Daniel-Stevenson-Mertens Memorial Scholarship
The Wabash Valley Herb Society, Inc., is pleased to announce that we will be awarding Martha Daniel-Joan Stevenson-Marty Mertens Memorial Scholarships in the amount of $1000 for the 2020-2021 academic year. These scholarships are available to high school seniors, college students and adults who wish to pursue a course of study in an herb-related field. This may include a wide variety of careers, such as medicine, journalism, culinary arts, restaurant management, agriculture, nutrition, pharmacy, etc.
The deadline has been extended to March 26th
Students who are interested in applying for this scholarship should contact their guidance counselors, financial aid department, and local library, or you may copy, paste and print the scholarship form on this page below.

750 word essay describing your herb of choice and how it relates to your area of study.
Transcripts of your current high school or college grades. Awards/honors you have received, and extracurricular/volunteer activities you are involved in.
Two current letters of reference
This is not a need based scholarship. The applicant cannot be related to anyone on the selection committee. The applicant must reside in the Wabash Valley Area (Indiana or Illinois).
A personal interview may be requested.
NOTE: Scholarship recipients and their families are invited to attend an awards meeting of the Wabash Valley Herb Society, at the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana program center, the second Wednesday of July.
We also ask that you spend some time getting experience with herbs, and avail yourself of the knowledge of the Wabash Valley Herb Society members by joining us in presenting the Spring Thyme Plant and Herb Faire. This is held every year on the Saturday before Mother’s Day at Vigo County Fairgrounds in Terre Haute, IN.
